In August and September, due to persistent rains, there were again severe floods around the Awash River. Thousands of people had to flee and many of them have lost their house, harvest and/of livestock . The pictures below show the size of the floods and are made in the Wonji region. Also other regions are hit.
In september 2019 there were also severe floods around the Awash River. This recurring problem shows the urgency of the work along the river.
